Darrien Skinner
Hello,
As a Program Manager at MD Anderson Cancer Center, I lead the EndTobacco initiative, a comprehensive and innovative approach to prevent the burden of tobacco-related cancers in Texas. I have over 5 years of experience in public health, with a focus on opioid and tobacco prevention and control.
I have a Master of Science in Health Behavior and Health Education from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations from Texas State University. I have developed and implemented effective health communication and promotion campaigns, using social media, public speaking, and advertising skills. I have also provided technical assistance, oversight, and evaluation to partner organizations that receive funding for public health initiatives. I am passionate about finding creative ways to improve our health communication and promotion efforts, and to address the rapidly changing public health landscape in America. My goal is to make a positive impact on the health and well-being of our communities.
