Health Promotion

I have worked in health promotion for over nine years (since I was a freshman in high school). I started as an advocate in my school and have worked on a state-level for a high school tobacco prevention initiative and a college tobacco prevention initiative. I have also volunteered on a national level for the Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids and the Truth Initiative.

I worked with the Texas School Safety Center on the Say What! initiative for two years. I had the opportunity to work on improving the social media and media relations for this amazing program by independently working to create and manage social media content and press releases. I improved the presence of Say What! online and in the media, the program’s youth advocates were recognized as leaders by their communities and familiarity with the movement improved statewide.
